“Cigarette smoking is dangerous to your health” – it’s a public consensus that we hear from ads relating to smoking. Apparently, we don’t need to warn you about that over and over again.

E-cigarettes, short for electronic cigarettes, are devices which allows smokers to indulge on their addiction without the presence of tobacco, carcinogens and other dangerous substance of a smoking cigarette. It sports a design same as the look of a cigarette, with a LED tube and a battery-powered vaporizers, so it totally feels like not quitting at all.
As of today, e-cigarettes are the new hypes in smoking. Technically though, it can’t be referred to as smoking because it isn’t a smoking paraphernalia and you don’t inhale smoke at all. Instead, users want to coin the term as “vaping“, since you inhale vapor.
A lot of people think that it’s the healthier option and a miracle that could save them from future damages in smoking. But the question is, is it really the healthier option or is it just the same evil in another form? To let you decide for yourself, we have gathered some disturbing facts.
E-cigarettes contains Propylene Glycol, Vegetable Glycerine, Flavoring, Diethylene Glycol (found in antifreeze) and NICOTINE. Just to be clear to those who say that the amount of nicotine in e-cigarettes are in very small doses and is only intended for the treatment therapy, any merchandise that provides nicotine into our system is inevitably considered as “UNSAFE”. Nicotine, in its pure form, is a lethal toxic. As an advice, think of how many small dosages of nicotine you will be vaping, because it might already be equal to a bottle of it.
E-cigs comes in different colorful LEDs and lots of fruity flavors. Yes, children will most likely be enticed to it because it can make you feel and look cool, and it comes in different flavors just like candies. Their curiosity is really hard to control and the worst case scenario is that it might serve as a gateway for them to smoke while thinking that inhaling smoke is just the same with inhaling e-cig vapors.
Lastly, 2nd hand vaping are no different from 2nd hand or passive smoking. According to a study issued by CHEST, a five minute exposure to vapors causes an increase in impedance, peripheral airway flow resistance, and oxidative stress in the lungs of the innocent people. It’s a very significant change for someone who doesn’t smoke and I hope smokers will realize how they drag someone innocent to their own danger.
