Day 1: Lunch – Raw Tacos!

The day has been pretty easy, no real cravings, did get really hungry though by lunch time. I didn’t do a video of the breakfast because I was still experimenting so wasn’t sure if the smoothie was going to come out ok. But it did, other than the Spirulina that I added in it. It was pretty gross. It made the smoothie smell like toilet water. Seriously, that is exactly what it smelled like. I don’t think I am going to do that again.

For breakfast smoothie I used a handfull of spinach, a leaf of green kale and a leaf of red kale, a leaf of collard greens, 1 apple, 2 bananas, 1 table spoon of flaxseed oil, 1 table spoon of spirulina and a cup of raspberries. Oh and a squeeze of half of a lime. Blended it all up and other than the toilet smell it was good. By the way, this made enough smoothie for 3 glasses, which I shared with my wifey and the kids drank the third glass.

By lunch time I got really hungry so looking through the Raw Food¬†book, we decided on the raw tacos we’ve been eyeing. Did I mention this book is awesome? Besides the great photos of the food, the recipes them selves are real tasty!! So I followed the recipe and got it all prepared. One thing I forgot to do is soak the nuts for the meat but it came out real good still.

I really liked the raw tacos, so I had 3 of them. It’s ok, they are 99% raw vegetables. We still have a bunch of stuff left over for dinner so that’s probably what we’ll be having. One other thing I’ve noticed is that I didn’t need to drink while eating.. it was all really juicy.
